Mark Your Calendars for Sunday, May 4, 2014

This winter has certainly been a cold and snowy one and it's got us all thinking of spring.  And spring, of course, means the 6th annual Takoma Park Safe Routes to School 5K Challenge!  As in years past, proceeds from the event fund programs focusing on bike and pedestrian safety, health and fitness offered by the Parent Teacher Associations at Takoma Park, Piney Branch, Rolling Terrace and East Silver Spring Elementary Schools and Takoma Park Middle School. Running/walking clubs, recess equipment and direct bike and pedestrian safety education are some of the specific uses of race revenue over the past five years. So spread the word, lace up those sneakers and start training!  It's only three months away! And it will be delightfully warm compared to today's weather!

Check out this great press on the race!
